A record number of Alpha Pharm Pharmacy Staff participate in our Clinical Education Programme
Last year a record number of 1871 pharmacy staff enrolled on the Alpha Pharm Pharmacy Staff Clinical Education Programme.
This programme provides Alpha Pharm pharmacy staff with vital clinical and practical information to satisfy customer’s needs at front shop level giving our staff a competitive edge in terms of knowledge.
Over the past 6 years we have covered a range of topics tailored specifically for the needs of our pharmacy staff to deal with the most commonly occurring conditions and equipping them to effectively sell products to customers from a sound knowledge basis.
The subjects that have been covered over the past six years include:
Understanding Dyspepsia, Menstrual Problems, Headache, Overweight and Obesity, Diarrhoea, Coughs and Colds, Asthma, Vitamins & Minerals, Pimples and Acne, Infant Feeding, Common Allergies, Common Wounds and Burns, Constipation, Common Fungal Infections and HIV for Front Shop Staff ,Contraception, Common Eye Conditions, Smoking Cessation, Worm Infestations, Urinary Tract Infections in the Pharmacy, Understanding Vaginal Thrush, Mouth Ulcers, Infant Ailments, Osteoarthritis, Malaria, Allergic Rhinitis & Hayfever and Vaccine-preventable Childhood Illnesses.
This year we will look at Understanding Insomnia, What is Diabetes?, Common Ear Problems and relook at Pimples & Acne and Headache,
In many cases the topics of the Pharmacy staff modules have been designed to co-ordinate with the modules sent out to our pharmacists. So, in the case of the module on Dyspepsia, the pharmacists’ module was on GORD (Acid Reflux). This facilitates in-pharmacy learning between the pharmacists and their staff as they are both studying related topics at the same time and the pharmacists can assist their staff to a better understanding of the conditions.
